At the beginning of the creative process, an image of two women intertwining in a “highly graphic” pose.
From their bodies emerges the letter X, the first letter of my first name, Xavier.
I subvert the sexual aspect through a sensual graphic design of curves that wrap around and touch one another.
The bodies no longer belong to themselves in this color palette where harmony is one and the same…..
A highly graphic work, and after many hours, a style emerges like a rough sketch in paint. Nothing is set in stone at this point. The moment of truth still unfolds on the canvas in a physical, emotional, and organic way...
After a few attempts, the magic happens through a mixed-media rendering using both brush and airbrush.
Inevitably, after seeing this canvas in two dimensions for so long, the urge to bring it to life as a sculpture becomes overwhelming.
New materials, new technique, new challenge—things take shape in 3D
with the creation of the model on a 3D printer... To be continued—or perhaps an inspired poem.
